Vietnam Tour 1969

Above are some photos of 7th Comm. on Hill 34 and at Dodge City during Operation "Pipestone Canyon" and some of the footage is from a documentary but it does bring back memories.

Operation Pipestone Canyon was a US Marine Corps, Army of the Republic of Vietnam and Republic of Korea Marine Corps operation that took place on Go Noi Island, Quảng Nam Province, lasting from 26 May to 7 November 1969.

Operation Pipestone Canyon concluded on 7 November, the Marines had lost 71 killed and the PAVN/VC 852 killed and 58 captured. The operation was regarded as a success as the PAVN/VC had been driven from Dodge City and Go Noi Island.

The Vietnam War marked a time of social unrest that divided our nation like never before. Service members returning home with physical and emotional scars were greeted with an unprecedented level of disrespect and dishonor. The courage and sacrifice of our veterans cannot be overstated. When you encounter them, thank them for their service. You never know how powerful those words may be.
