Fire Suppression

“Sequoia National Forest”
Back in the late 90's, I worked about 4 of seasons with the Forest Service in supplies on fire suppression. We ordered all the man power, (firemen, hotshots and camp crews), along with equipment and air support, (water bombers).
I worked on the second team. First team came in on forest fires upto 5,000 acres. From 5,000 up, the second team took over. I really loved the work and people but it was some long hours. We worked 18 hour shifts for 3 weeks. After 3 weeks they sent you home for a couple of days.
